Find out the percentage of boys who passed in the exam if it is given that 65 % of the girls cleared their exams.

if there are 15x boys and 7x girls out of which 3y boys and 2y girls passed, then
2y/7x = 65/100
y= x*91/40

the percentage of boys who passed in the exam = 100*3y/15 x = 45.5%

no.of boys:no.of girls=15:7
total students= 15x+7x
let the total no. of students who cleared the exams be 3y+2y
2y=0.65*7x
therefore y= (91/40 )x

Total No. of boys who cleared = 3y= 3(91/40)x=6.8x

% of boys who passed= (no. of boys who passed)/total no. of boys =15x/6.8x = 45.5% ...............answer
