If their speeds are a nd b respectively, then
3a= 400-3b
8a= 8b-400

solving these eqns, we get
a=250/6 m/min and b = 550/6 m/min
ratio a/b = 250/550 = 5/11

( let after first 4 minutes OA=BO = x
Speed of A= x/4
B covers (300-x) in first 4 minutes.
Speed of B = (300-x)/4 =
75-(x/4)
in next 5 minutes A goes 5x/4. After 9 minutes A goes (x+(5x/4)) = 9x/4
After 9 minutes OA = 9x/4
i.e. After 9 minutes OB should be 9x/4
In next 5 minutes B goes (x+9x/4) = 13x/4

i.e. 5(75-(x/4)) = 13x/4
i.e. x = 250/3

speed of A = 250/12
speed of B = 75-(250/12) = 650/12
speed of A/speed of B = 5/13
