ans) 37rs/kg
cp of total mixture=(20*30)+(25*40)=1600rs
as he needs 25% profit, so he needs to earn 1600+(1600*(25/100))=2000rs.
he has alredy got rs by selling 1/3 part=1/3 of 60 kg..=20 kg
=20*26=520rs..
now he needs 2000-520=1480rs.
so he must sell remaining 40 kg at=1480/40=37rs/kg

Merchant buys 20kgs at 30rs/kg
so total c.p.= 20*30=600

Again he buys 40 kgs at 25rs/kg
so total c.p.=40*25=1000

Total c.p.= 1000+600=1600
To earn profit of 20% on whole mixture the s.p. should be = 1600*120/100 = 1920

He sells 1/3rd (i.e. 20 kgs) at 26 rs/kg
so s.p.= 20*26=520

Now he have to sell remaining 40 kgs on (1920-520)=1400 rs
So price er kg = 1400/40 = 35 rs. /kg (Ans.)

He should sell the remaining mixture for 37 rs per kg to earn 25% of profit

Total cp = 20 * 30 + 40*25= 1600
Sp = 125/100 * 1600= 2000
Sp for 20kg mix = 26*20 =520
Rem sp = 2000-520 = 1480
As this sp is for 40 kg = 1480 / 40 = Rs37

remaining=2000-520=1480
remaining is 40 kg 1480/40=37 perkg
