WIF : 1/15
MAN + WIFE : 1/12 + 1/15 =3/20,,,. ie 20/3
20/3 means 6 2/3
so ans: 6 2/3

man's one day work=1/12
wife's one day work=1/15
both=(1/12)+(1/15)=9/60
reciprocal of work is days
so 60/9=6 2/3 days.

one day job for a wife=1/15
so together they can=1/12+1/15=27/180=3/20
so working together=20/3=6 2/3

SOLVING BY UNITARY METHOD :
TOTAL UNITS OF WORK TO BE COMPLETED IS L.C.M OF 12 AND 15 THAT IS 60 UNITS
MAN COMPLETES 60/12 = 5 UNITS/DAY
WIFE COMPLETES 60/15 = 4 UNITS/DAY
TOGETHER IN 1 DAY THEY COMPLETE 9 UNITS/DAY
SO NUMBER OF DAYS IN WHICH WORK IS COMPLETED IS 60/9 = 6 2/3

man 1 day work 1/12,wife 1 day work 1/15.
Together (1/12 + 1/15)= 3/20 ( 1 day work ).
to get total days invert it 20/3= 6 2/3.
