Let x be the average of all 9 persons.
Money spent by 8 persons = 8*12= Rs.96
Money spent by ninth person = Rs.(x+8)
Therefore, Average money spent by all 9 persons = 96+(x+8)/9=x
104+x=9x
x=13
Money spent by ninth person = x+8= 13+8= Rs.21
Therefore, Total money spent by all of them = 96+21= Rs.117

let the average expenditure of all the nine be Rs.x
then,
12multiply by 8 +(x+8)=9x
8x=104
x=13.
total money spent=9x
(9multiply by 13)=Rs.117 (answer)

let avg sum paid by all 9 persons = x
so total payment = 9x
and sum paid by first 8 persons = 12*8
sum paid by 9th person = x+8
therefore we get :
9x=(12*8)+(x+8)
we get x=13
total amount = 13*9 = 117 (ans)

Ans - 117

Let the total money spent be Rs. x
Avg. of 9 people = x/9
8 of them spent Rs. 12 each so total is = 8*12=96
9th person spent 8 more than the avg = x/9+8
Thus, total amt. of money spent : x/9+8+96=x
Solve the equation and you will get x= 117 .

96+8+x=9x
104+x=9x
104+x-9x=0
104-8x=0
104=8x
104/8=x
x=8
9x=9*8=72

Ninth one is paying rs 8 more this means he is paying rs 1 for each eight people.so if everyone among 8 pay rs 13 ninth one didnt need to pay rs 8 more hence answer is 12+1 =13
