let the present age of X and Y be x,y
x:y=3:4
x-10=1/2(y-10)
on solving the equations we get
x=15,y=20
so total =35

X=3,Y=4
(3x-10) = 1/2(4x-10)
2(3x-10)= (4x-10)
6x-4x=20-10 -> 2x=10 ->x=5

->3*5 +4*5

let present age of X is x/2
present age of Y is x
then
X Y
x/2 - 10 x-10
3 4
on cross multiplication, we get
4((x/2)-10) = 3(x-10)
2x-10 = 3x-30 => x = (-) 10
present age of Y is x = 10 + 10 = 20
present age of X is x/2 = 5 + 10 = 15
total ages of X & Y is 15+20 = 35

Ten years ago : X-10 = (Y-10) / 2 ---- (1)
Present age ratio X:Y = 3:4 -----------(2)
Solving 1 & 2
Y = 20, X=15
Total X+ Y =35

Let the present age of X be x.
age of X ten years ago was (x-10)
age of Y ten years ago was 2(x-10) as because Y is twice as big as X

So the case before ten years is (x-10)=2(x-10)
So the case at present is (x-10)+10=2(x-10)+10 i.e x= 2x-10


hence by ratio,

3/4=x/(2x-10)
by solving, x=15.

sub in 2x-10 we get age of y as 20
x+y = 20+15=35.

Let Current Age Of X And Y is x and Y.
So,Ten Years Ago,
X's Age=x-10.
Y's Age=y-10.

According to Question,
x-10=1/2(y-10)
On Solving this,
2x-y=10--------->1
and It is Given That
x:y=3:4
or x=3/4y---------->2
On Solving 1 and 2
x=15,y=20
x+y=35

let the present age of X be x and that of Y is y.
now x/y=3/4
x-10=(y-10)/2
solving the two equatins we get y=20 and x=15 hence x+y=35

let the ages of X and Y 10 years ago be X and Y
X=1/2Y
After 10 years their ages would be X+10 and Y+10 which is their present ages
now,
(X+10)/(Y+10)=3/4
Solving this we get,Y=10
and X=5
Now their present ages would be: X+10=5+10=15
and Y+10=10+10=20
Sum of their ages =15+20=35
