Ans:8 Days
As
A=1/16 work in 1 day
let B do 1/X work in 1 day

4*(1/16)+4(1/16+1/X)=1
So, 1/X=1/8
So X=8 days to complete same work

A in one day completes 1/16 th part of work..he works for four days
so in four days he completes 1/4 th part of work
remaining 3/4 th part of work should be complete by A and B in 4 days....
so they can complete full work in 16/3 days.... (1/x)+(1/16)=(3/16) solving
we get x=8 days so B alone can do it in 8 days .....

x=8days

Ans 8 Days
A one day work was 1/16
B one day work we are take 1/x
A in 4 days completed work was 1/4
so remaining work from A was 1/16-1/4=3/16
hence A+B=3/16
1/x+1/16=3/16
so x=8

1day work of a=1/16
let 1 day work of b=1/x
4 day work of a=4/16=1/4
left work=(1-1/4)=3/4
4(1/16+1/x)=3/4
x=8

1/A+1/B=1/8,

so solving it we get 1/B=1/8

so b can do the work in 8 days

Total Work = 16
A's capacity to do work in 1 day= 1
for the first 4 days , A did 4 work
Remaining work= 12 (which is done by both A and B)
12 work is completed in next 4 more days. But A can do 1 work per day i.e for 4 days he did 4 work.
Thus , work done by B =8(in 4 days)
Thus B can do 2 work per day.
Total work = 16
Therefore, B alone will take = 16/2 = 8 days to complete the work

let the work be 16 units
then A's capacity = 1 unit/day
(A+B)'s capacity = 2 unit/day
B's capacity = 1unit/day
therefore time taken by B = 16 days

1/16+1/16+1/16+1/16=1/4th work done by A
rest 3/4th done by both in next 4 days.
in 4 days work done by A is 1/4th of total so remaining 1/2th work done by B in 4 days.

B alone can complete it in 8 days. let the work to be completed is 16 units. A ca do 1 unit/day. In 4 days, he can do 4 units. in 4 more days he completes 4 units. rest of 8 units can be done by B in 4 days.

4(1/16+x)=3/4
x=1/8
no of days = 8

A's 1 day work=1/16
First 4 days work of A=4*(1/16)=1/4
4A+(A+B)4=1
1/4+(A+B)*4=1-1/4
A+B=3/16
1/16+B=3/16
B=3/16-1/16
B=2/16
B=8 days

A and B completes 3/4th of work in 4 days
A can complete 3/4th of work in 12 days
lcm of 12 and 4 is 12
A does 1part of 3/4th in 1 day
A and B does 3 parts of 3/4th work in one day
so,B does 2parts of 3/4 in 1 day
b does 3/4 th work in 6 days
total work in 8 days
