I think its a wrong one. It should be 12 handshakes in place of 36 hand shakes.

{a1, a2}, {a2, a3},{a3, a4}, {a4, a5},{a5, a6}, {a6, a7} …, {a11,a12}, {a12, a1}
From the above arrangement, If we separate a3, a6, a9, .....a12. Total 4 persons, the remaining persons must have shaked hand with atleast one person. So answer is 4

ALL THE PESRSON SITED IN THE CIRCULAR FASHION.
AND ONE PERSON CAN SAKE HAND WITH 2 OTHER PERSON...
SO MINIMUM SET CONTAIN 4.
EXAMPLE--{a1,a5,a8,a11}.

if i consider a1 then the no. of rest set will be 10 in such a way of {a1,a3},{a1,a5}, ........................
if i consider a2 then the no. of rest set will be 9 in such a way of {a2,a4},{a2,a5},...................
in this way we get the rest no. of set 1
but in the question the min no. of set is 4
so the answer is 4.

answer is 4 because we need to select those people which have shaken hands with different people in the set. i mean put those people in set such that rest will be adjacent to at least one person in the set. Since this set has to be minimum so put {a1,a4,a7,a10} in the set.so answer is 4 (hint: first create a circular set of 12 person and check this adjacent thing)
