If sum=x and period(years)=t, then at 12.5% simple interest, x+ (x*t*12.5)/100= 2.5x, So t=12

PRINCIPAL -X
AMOUNT - 2.5X
SIMPLE INTEREST: A-P = 2.5X-X= 1.5X
SI = PTR/100
1.5X = X*T*12.5/100
T=12 YRS ( Note : he given amount but not simple interest, so 20 yrs is wrong )

if sum =9100 and period is T then 12.5% is rate of interest and amount is 250 and SI is 150 so with the formula SI= (p*r*t)/100.

150=(100*12.5*T)/100
t=12 years

where n=2.5, R=12.5

SI=(P*R*T)/100
2.5x=(x*12.5*T)/100
T=(2.5x*100)/12.5x
T=20 yrs

let the sum of money be X
and time be t
using formula
(p*r*t)/100

(X*12.5*t)/100=2.5X
12.5Xt=250X

X gets cancle

12.5t=250
t=2500/125
so t=20

option (c) is the correct answer ....simple logic. try to answer from question ..its time taking(if u r calculation is weak) but 100% correct . let us solve
let us take principle amount be 100
SI= P*R*T/100
consider the first option ; 6 years
100*6*12.5/100=75
as we know that it get double in 12 years ;150
150+100(Principle)=2.5 times of it self
