Ans is 575
one digit no =4 (0 is not a positive integer)
two digit no=4*5=20
three digit no=4*5*5=100
four digit no=3*5*5*5=375(the possibility for 1,2,3 will come in the first position)
four digit no=1*3*5*5(the possibility of 4is fixed in the first position and then 0,1,2 is comes in second position)
and the last digit is 4300 we include this number also

Ans is 4+20+100+375+75+1=575

ans is 574
one digit no. 4( we can't include 0 because question is for positive integers only so 1,2,3,4 - total 4 numbers)
two digit no. 4*5=20
three digit no. 4*5*5=100
four digit no. 3*5*5*5=375 (upto 3999)
four digit no. 1*3*5*5=75 (from 4000 to 4299)

Answer is 4+20+100+375+75= 574

we have to check how many positive integers are formed by {0,1,2,3,4} less than 4300 :

this are the digit 4 digit places : - - - -
in 4300 thr are ones ,tens ,hundreds,thousands,
1) so 1 digit numb take priority of single space so from {0,1,2,3,4} in this 0 is neglected as numbers will
not starts from zero so thr is possibility of 4 numbers in 1st digit i.e {1,2,3,4}

similarly
2)two digit no=4*5=20 {in this starting number will not start with zero but second digit number will be {0,1,2,3,4} so thr is 5 possibility

three digit no=4*5*5=100

four digit no=3*5*5*5=375(the possibility for 1,2,3 will come in the first position)

for given 4300
four digit no=1*3*5*5(the possibility of 4is fixed in the first position and then 0,1,2 is comes in second position)

and last digit 4300 is also added i.e=1
Ans is 4+20+100+375+75+1=575

One easy method is to notice that there is a one-to-one correspondence between the numbers less than 4300 that can be made from the digits 0–4 and all the numbers less than 43005 in their base-5 representation. The answer is therefore 43005=4×53+3×52=575.
