Ans : 32,000
because they have given tital travelling distance is 40,000 km
i.e each tyre has travelled 40,000 km so total travelled distance by tyres = 40,000*4=1,60,000
this must be divided among 5 tyres hence each tyre is used to travel for (1,60,000/5)=32,000 km

Each tyre used for 32000 kms .
Tyres were changed after 8 kms or four tyms during whole journey , one tyre was not in use at a time
Let 1 2 3 4 5 were tyres and at first tyre 1,2 ,3,4
Were used
After 8 kms, tyres used 5 2 3 4
After 16 kms, tyres used 5 1 3 4
After 24 kms, tyres used 5 1 2 4
After 32 kms, tyres used 5 1 2 3 .
So clearly every tyre used for 32 kms

40000/5=8000 i.e,for every 8000 kms a tyre has to b replaced.so each tyre will get changed for every 32000 kms as to replace other one

(40000*4)/5

Here we consider 4 tyres as 1 set.
we have 5 tyres. so we take remaining 1 tyre as 1/4=0.25
40000/1.25 = 32000
Ans.c
