consider 2 no. at a time. like 1 and -2. add them and you get -1
you have 200 terms so 100 pairs which sums up to -100
average = -100/200
=-0.5

Ans is -0.5
There are 2 series i.e. 1,3,5,....100 terms & -2,-4,-6....100 terms
Sum of Ist series = n/2(2a+(n-1)d) = 100/2[ 2x1+ (99) x 2] = 100x200/2 = 10000
Sum of IInd series = n/2(2a+(n-1)d) = 100/2[ 2x(-2)+ (99) x -2] = -100x202/2 = -10100
Average = (Sum of Ist series + Sum of IInd series )/200 = -100/200 =-0.5

Average of first n even no.= n+1, -2 to -200 total 100 negative even no. are there so, -(n+1)= -(100+1)= -101
Average of first n odd no.= n, 1 to 199 total 100 odd no. are there so, n= 100
now take Average of these 2 no.= (-101+100)/2= -1/2= -0.5 Answer
