If speed of the boat=x kmph, then speed of the current=x/5 kmph and upstream speed=x-(x/5)=4x/5
As boat can travel 10.2 km upstream in 51 minutes, so 10.2/(4x/5)=51/60 ,x=15
So speed of the current=x/5=15/5=3 kmph and downstream speed=15+3=18 kmph
Distance that boat can travel in 48 minutes or 4/5 hours =18*4/5=14.4 km

if speed of boat =x kmph.speed of the boat in still water=x/5 kmph .current speed=x/5 kmph . so vallu culculate =10.2/(4x/5)=51/60 .=51/4x=51/60=4x=60 .x=15.then speed of the boat in still water=x/5=15/5=3kmph .now speed=18kmph in upstream in 51minutes .now distance in downstream in 48 minutes . by formula distance=speedxtime =18x4/5=72/5=14.4 kmph .14.4 kmph
