Since the step forms a cuboid,the diagonal length would be √(a2+b2+c2).so the ans would be √(5^2+1^2+2^2)=5.47
Not sure abt ans

ant want to move extreme of the cuboid. first see the top surface.. shortest distance is always hypotenuse. now open the cuboid and make a new triangle by adding depth on lower side so that squaring don't make big difference i.e L=2+1 ,B=5. H(min)= 5.8

a thread and a cuboid or a folded paper will help u to imagine easily.
