Let Assume that the capacity of the tank is X litres.

Number of times the 4 litres bucket is used to fill the tank is X/4.

Number of times the 3 litres bucket is used to fill the tank is X/3.

X/4 -X/3=4

After solving the equation X will be 48.

Tank capacity is 48 Litres.

let x be required no. of 4 lit to fill & y be required no. of 8 litrs
given x=y-4& we know that 4x=3y=capacity of old tank
so by solvin above two eqns
x=12;y=16
capacity of bucket=4x=3y=48litrs

Let capacity of tank be X

No. of 4 litres bucket used =X/4

No of 3 litres bucket used=X/3

X/3-X/4=4


By solving above equation

Capacity of tank will be 48 litres.

x/3 +4 = x/4 , where x = capacity of old tank

Let the capacity of tank be x
No of times taken by designer bucket = x/4
No of times taken by tradition bucket = x/3
x/3 - x/4 = 4
x/12 = 4
x = 48
