ans is 70
8-6=2
17-14=3
35-31=4
75-70=5
difference must be in sequence

hai evry one i think sravya sree is correct...........70 is ans......

@kodi..... we have to consider all the sequence leaving some values as our wish will result in mistake i think........

@bhowmik......u had taken 71 but its given 75 not 71 check it plz...........

@baidyanath...... in your solution u had done many mistakes plz chexk it out...... 6+17+14=35 which is wrong =37.... and 14+35+31=75 is also wrong =80....
if its had given 61 insted of 75 then that approach will be some wht f9 and it may give 66 as result...........but for now i conclude that 70 will be final...........

first add 2 given no&then leaving one add 3 no
8+6=14
6+17+14=35
17+14=31
14+35+31=75
35+31=36

...... ANS=66

There are two series, the one with missing term is:
6 14 31 '66'
This is how:

6*2 +2=14
14*2+3=31
31*2+4=66

17+(17+1)=35
35+(35+1)=71...
(6*2)+2=14
(14*2)+3=31
(31*2)+4=66.
