The summary of a poll conducted in a large residential complex on the residents’ preference for the colour of the paint to be used for the buildings is given below. Use this information to answer the following questions.
50% of the respondents preferred each of light green, sky blue and light pink. 15% preferred light green and sky blue, 22% preferred light pink and sky blue, 25% preferred light green and light pink and 5% preferred all the three colours.

What percentage of respondents preferred none of the three colours?

5% preferred all the three colours.
25% prefer light green and light pink so,only light green and light pink=25-5= 20
22% prefer light pink and sky blue so, only light pink and sky blue=22-5= 17
15% prefer light green and sky blue so, only light green and sky blue=15-5= 10
50% of the respondents preferred each of light green, sky blue and light pink so, only light green = 50-(20-10-5) = 15
only light pink = 50-(20-17-5) = 8
only sky blue = 50-(17-10-5) = 18
which totals to = 15+18+8+20+10+17+5 = 93
therefore 100-93 = 7 preferred none of the colours

let total=100,lg=sb=lp=50,lg+sb=15,lp+sb=22,lg+lp=25,lg+sb+lp=5
so,lg or sb or lp=3*50-(22+25+15)(as each of them considered twice)+5(as those gave three choices we have subtracted them for all three times as previous so we hv to add them for at least one of their choice)=93 so %includes none of the three=7 1)b
if none of d three=14 then respondents double or 200% i.e=200 3)c
only sb=sb-(lg+sb)-(lg+sb)=50-15-22=18,only lp=8,only lg=15,total=41 2)b
we can get answer 17 for 4 following the sm procedure as for 1 replacing 22 nd 25 by 27 nd 30...again we can't increase the no. both liked respondents no. without sacrificing some only liked repondents no. 41 will be less in this case ...so we can't keep all figures intact i.e ans 4)c in that sense
19*X+9*Y=15(X+Y) or,X:Y=3:2
