break at first link and third link. It makes that bar into one piece , two pieces and four pieces gold bars. First day give one piece gold bar. Second day give two pieces gold bar and get back one piece gold bar. Third day give the one piece. Fourth day give four pieces and get back both two pieces and one piece gold bar. Fifth day give one piece. Sixth give two and get back one. Seventh give the one piece gold bar. Hence, -|--|---- will solve the problem.

cur the bar in 3 pieces of 1,2,4 segments .

First day u can give 1 segment.

on 2nd day, take first seg back and give piece of 2 segments.

like this u can give for 7 days as binary code
001,010,011,100,101,110,111

Cut the gold bar into 1,2,4 pieces ...

1st day - give 1
2nd day - get 1 and give 2
3rd day - give 1
4th day - give 4 and get 1,2
5th day - give 1
6th day - give 2 and get 1
7th day - give 1

cut the bar at first ant third link
this make 3 bars of bar 1->1 piece and 2-> 2 piece and 3->4 piece
1 day give bar 1
2 day give bar 2 and take bar 1 back
3 day give 1 bar
4 day give 3 bar take 1 and 2 back
5 day 1 day
6 day take 1 back give 2
7 day give 1
