As, we have 36 hour in a day. So, the dial has 18 hours(36/2=18) to cover daily twice. Now a dial has 360*. So, in one hour hand moves 360/18=20*.
So, for 12 hour hand moves 12x20=240*.
Now for minutes, hour hand moves 20/90
for 40 minutes it moves 20/90x40=8.88*
So for 12:40 hour hand moves 240+8.88=248.88*.

Now, minute hand moves 90 minutes to complete one hour.
for one minute it moves 360/90=4*
for 40 minutes it moves 4x40=160*

So, the angle between hour hand and minute hand is 248.88-160=88.88

The ans is 89*

exp: as,we have 36 hour in a day , and hand covers the dial twice a day, so on watch , 18 hours are represented. So for one hour , hand move 360/18= 20*.so for 12 hour hand will be at 12*20=240*. And now for minutes ...In one hour=90 min, so minute hand moves in one minute, 360/90=4*. so in 40 minutes, it will be at 160*.and an hour hand will move slight more since it reaching up to 13 hours.so hour hand will be at 240+(20/9).so the angle made by hour hand and minute hand will be 89 degree approx ...its sure that will be near to 80 and more than 80 ..so answer is 89 degree..

Solution

Since total hours in a day = 36 and
as on earth, the hour hand covers the dial twice every day.
so there will be 18 numbers from 1 to 18 in the clock.
when the time will be 12:40(hands will be at 12 and 8 marks in the clock), two hands of the clock will make an angle of 20*4 = 80 degree, here 20 is the angle between two numbers in the clock.
now for 80 min, advancement of the hour hand will be (20/90)*40 = 80/9
so total angle = 80 + (80/9) = 800/9 = 88.889 degree
if we consider the obtuse angle, then it will be 360-88.889 = 271.111 degree

Ans)89 because
for hour hand:-
In one hour it rotates 360/18="20 degrees"(As, there are 36/2 divisions in planet Oz clock)
In one minute it rotates 20/90="2/9 degrees"(As, there are 90 minutes for one hour)
For minutes hand,
In one minute it rotates "360 degrees"(Because it completes one revolution)
In one hour it rotates 360/90="4 degrees"(As, there are 18*5 sub-divisions on Oz clock)
So, we can derive a formula:
(20*hours)-(34/9*minutes) /*[34/9 is 4-(2/9)]*
substitute the values and u get answer as 89 degrees approximately

bhai ans habe 89 deg

36hrs a day mane the clk will b of 18hrs.
18hrs covrs 360deg
thus 1hr covrs 20deg
12 hrs covrs 12*20=240deg
ekhon,1 hr in 90min
thus in 90min the hour hand goes 20deg
tai, for 1min hr hand goes 2/9deg
sei jonne, for 40 min hour hnd goes (2/9)*40deg=80/9deg=9deg(approx)
thus hr hand covrs total of 240+9=249deg
now min hand covrs=40*4=160deg
(karon, 90min=360deg
1min=4deg)

thus angle betwn them 249-160=89deg :)

"First we are taking the hour hand"
as the hand covers the dial twice every day so..
18hr have 360 degree
1hr have 360/18 degree = 20 degree
so 12 hr have 12*20 degree=240 degree
also given 1hr = 90 min
so 90min= 20 degree
1min = 20/90 =2/9 degree
so 40 min= 40*(2/9)=8.88(aprox)
so total angel coverd by the hour hand is=240+8.88=248.88 degree
"NOW WE consider the minute hand"
90 min = 360 degree
so 1 min= 360/90=4 degree
so 40 min= 40*4= 160 degree
so finaly the angel covered by the hour hand is= 248.88 degre
and the angel covered by minute hand is = 160 degree
so the angel between the hands is= 248.88-160=88.88 or 89 degre(aprox)

in 1 hour the movement of hour's niddle will b:360/18=20 degree
so in 9 hour it will b=9*20=180
but deir z 40 min also....
in 90 min the movement of hour niddle:20 degree
in 1 min=20/90=2/9
in 40 min=40*2/9=80/9
......
the total movement of hour niddle=180+(80/9)=188.88
min niddle mov. in 90 min=360
in one min=360/90=4 deg.
in 40 min=40*4=160
so the angle b/w hour n min=188.88-160=28.88=29 degree aprox..

as on earth, the hour hand covers the dial twice every day.
so there will be 18 numbers from 1 to 18 in the clock.
when the time will be 12:40, two hands of the clock will make an angle of 20*4 = 80 degree, here 20 is the angle between two numbers in the clock.
now for 80 min, advancement of the hour hand will be (20/90)*40 = 80/9
so total angle = 80 + (80/9) = 800/9 = 88.889 degree
if we consider the obtuse angle, then it will be 360-88.889 = 271.111 degree

At Exact 9:40 , min hand will make an angle of 160 deg with second hand.
At Exact 9:40 , Hour hand will make an angle of approx 189 deg with second hand.

Angle between hr and minute hand = 29 deg.
