The second term in G.P is 2 i.e., a * r ^ (n-1) = 2 where 'n' is the second term(2).. so we got ar = 2 ------ Equation (1)
Sum of infinite terms in G.P is 8 i.e., a/(1-r) = 8 ------- Equation(2)
From Euqation (1) we got r = 2/a.
so substitute 'r' value in eq (2).. we got 'a' value = 4.

answer will be 4. as ar= 2 and a/1-r =8 by solving this two equation.

given ar=2,a/(1-r)=8,by solving these two we get a=4

Second term of a GP=a(1-r)=2-----(1)
Sum of infinite terms=a/1-r=8-----(2)
Therefore a=8-8r
substitute in (1),we'll get
8r^2-16r+6=0
solving we get r=7/8
r=1/8
