Here solution is 98
bcoz cube use to make perfect 5 * 5 * 5 = 125
No need of cube to make hollow=(5-2)*(5-2)*(5-2)=27
so total cube need to make hollow cube is=125-27 =98

Let solve this step by step
Let say the faces of the bigger hollow cube are A, B, C, D, E and F
Let us say A is opposite B, C is opposite D and E is opposite F
Now, A and B have 5*5 cubes each
C and D would have 3*5 cubes each (not including the already counted cubes for A and B)
E and F would have 3*3 cubes each (not including the already counted cubes for A, B, C and D)
So, total cubes required = 2(5*5) + 2(3*5) + 2(3*3) = 98 cubes of 1*1*1 dimension

here we have given, 5by5by5 cube (total solid)= 125 but due to we want it hollow so we remove te unwanted ; and we gives 5-1 , 1 is the side of small cube so we take 5-1,5-1,5-1=64 remove that portion we get 125-64=61 exact answer
