15 minute.....sunil take 30(going to school+return) min less.....so children walked 30/2=15 min

@Ritabrata time taken for forward and backward journey has to be more than 30 at any cost.

45 min. Because if they reach home 30 min earlier then they must have met at a point which is at 15 min driving from the school. So the time would have been 4:45. So they walked for 45 min. :)

the childrens must have walked a min of 60 mins. as sunil is expectd to arrive at 5pm.

It gives 45mins as answer .Its repeated in many question papers.But question really looks like data insufficient.

it means 15 minute walk by children and 15 minut walk by sunil

data insufficent bcz school is over at 4 pm bt sunil reaches at 5 pm so more than 60 mins

suppose sunil uses to leave for the school at 3 pm and returns home at 7pm . On that sunday he returned home 6:30 pm as per as the question is concerned . He is supposed to maintain a certain velocity . so he happened to meet the child at 4:30 anyway on sunday . This means that the child had to walk 30 mins.

together they save 30 min

in one trip-15min
instead of 5pm---4:45pm

school got over 4pm so 4pm--4:45pm it will take 45min
so 45min answer
