Suppose each subject has max marks of 100,
and 10x,9x,8x,7x,6x are marks obtained in each subject, then
40x=300
x= 7.5
Marks obtained in different subjects are 75,67.5,60.0, 52.5, 45.
Hence Marks obtained in different subjects are 75%,67.5%,60.0%, 52.5%, 45%.

So he passed 4 subjects .

Assume the max. Mark for each subject is 100
60% total mark = 60/100 *500=300
10x+9x+8x+7x+6x=300
40x=300
x=7.5

mark for each subject
10x = 75
9x = 67.5
8x = 60
7x = 52.5
6x = 45

50% is the pass mark that is.,50 marks..

Only one subject is below the pass mark

so he passed in 4subjects...

he passed in four subjects..
total fractions of marks is 10+9+8+7+6=40
total mark obtained is 60% * 5 = 300% of maximum mark
so we can calculate mark obtained in each subjects
1st = 10/40* 300% = 75% pass
2nd = 9/40* 300% = 67.5% pass
3rd = 8/40 * 300 = 60% pass
4th = 7/40 * 300% = 52.5% pass
5th = 6/40 * 300 = 45% fail
hence the student passed in four subjects

they given the 60 % mark ratio 10:9:8:7:6 let mark in sub 10x 9x 8x 7x 6x
so 10x+9x+8x+7x+6x/5=60
40X=300
X=7.5
therfore 4 subject

total marks = 40x
total maximium = 200x/3
maximum in a subject = 40x/3

passing marks = 20x/3 = 6.67x

thus he passed in 4 exams and failed in 1
