a/b=5/3
areas=(a^2)/(5b^2)=5/9

if we consider triangle to be equilateral
then,
ratio would be 25:36

let each side of equilteral triangle =a
each side of regular polygon = b
so 3a=5b
a/b=5/3
area of equilateral triangle= (a^2*3^1/2)/4
area of 5 equilterl triangles forming the pentagon is = 5*( b^2* 3^1/2 )/4
so ratios of areas =a^2/5*b^2 = 25/9*5=5/9 =5:9

it will be 5:9 if traingle is equilateral and pentagone is regular ie all sides are equal

Considering Triangle with side lengths a,b,c
Regular pentagon with side x
Now,
a+b+c=5x
now calculate the ratio of areas:
area of pentagon= root3*x^2
area of triangle = root(s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c))
We get,
ratio
s*s*root(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)/root3 * x * x
now put the value of x= (a+b+c)/5
s=(a+b+c)/2
We get;
25 root(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)/4 root3

the area of equilateral triangle is 1.732p^2/36
the area of pentagon is 1.72p^2/25
dividing we get 100/9
