Solution

The fruit content in both the fresh fruit and dry fruit is the same.
given,fresh fruit has 68% water.so remaining 32%(100-68) is fruit content.weight of fresh fruits is 100kg
dry fruit has 20% water.so remaining 80% is fruit content.let weight if dry fruit be y kg.
fruit % in freshfruit = fruit% in dryfruit
32/100 * 100 = 80/100 * y
we get y = 40 kg
fruit pulp = 40 kg
so with water total amount = 40*100/80 = 50 kg
This answer is given by ATHUSHI and is correct answer

Easier Way to answer such type of question:-

we are concerned with solid part .
Assume x kg of dry fruit is obtained
since we have 100kg of fresh fruits
Substraction from 100 is done to get solid part!
Fresh fruit Dry fruit
100*(100-68) = x*(100-20)
100*32 = 80x
x=40

i think so 52 kg dry fruits should be left.
bcoz , out of 68% , 48% water gets evaporated. so 100kg-48g(water)=52 kg ans ???

any suggestion plzzzzz..

68% water means 32% pulp in fresh fruits. so in 100 kg fresh fruits, there is 32 kg pulp. now, dis must be equal to 80% of dry fruits. so, 80% of dry fruit=32 kg.
or dry fruit= 42.6 kg.

we are forming dry fruit from fresh fruit's content so fresh fruit's 32% pulp will become equal to dry fruit's 80% pulp. So we are equating both. but why don't we equate water content ????

The fruit content in both the fresh fruit and dry fruit is the same.
Given, fresh fruit has 68% water. So the remaining 32%(100-68) is fruit content.
Weight of fresh fruits is 100kg.
Dry fruit has 20% water. So the remaining 80% is fruit content. let the weight of dry fruit(Including water content) be y kg.
fruit % in fresh fruit = fruit% in dry fruit
32/100 * 100 = 80/100 * y
we get y = 40 kg
So The total dry fruit amount(including water ) = 40 Kg
