but without cycle
n-1;
20-1=19;

In case of circular sequence,possible number of handshakes can be given as:

No. of candidates itself in case even number of candidates are there.
No. of candidates-1 in case of odd number of candidates.

While in case no circular sequence is followed:
No of possible handshakes are: n*(n-1)/2
ie: 20(20-1)/2=10*19=190
