let us assume that B can complete the work in x days...
so B work 1/x in 1 day
A can work 1/12 in 1 day
so together they work 1/12+1/x in 1 day
which according to the question is 1/4

so 1/12+1/x= 1/4
1/x = 1/6
so x= 6
so B alone can complete the work in 6 Days.
so the correct option is C.

(a+b)'s one day work is 1/4
a's one day work is 1/12
b's one day work is (1/4)-(1/12)=1/6
b alone can complete the work in 6 days

given a+b can do in 4 days do 1 day work of a+b is 1/4
and also given a can complete the work in 12 days so a's 1 day work alone is 1/12
no on solving the equation:
1/12+b=1/4 (since a=1/12)
b=1/4-1/12
b=3-1/12
b=2/12
b=1/6
so b's 1 day work is 6 total work can be done in 6 days

work done by a in one day= 1/12
then work done by b= 1/4 - 1/12 =1/6
the work is completed by b in 6 days

A can do a piece of work in 12 days.
A+B=4DAYS
LCM of two number is 12.
work is assume that they have to eat 12 chocs.
A and B will eat 3 chocs per day.
A will eat 1 chocs per day.
so b need to eat 2 chocs per day.by this we can conclude that
B takes 6 days to complete the work.

A does 1/12th work in 1 day
B will do ((1/4)-(1/12))ie. 1/6th work in 1 day
B will take 6 days to complete the work.

A alone can do the part of work in 1 day=1/12
Thus, B can do the part of work alone in 1day=1/4-1/12=1/6

Thus, B alone can complete that work in 6days.

HERE A AND B CAN DO THEIR WORK IN 4 DAYS. A ALONE CAN DO IT IN 12 DAYS.
SO A AND B CAN DO 1/4 WORK IN 1 DAY. SO A CAN DO 1/12 WORK IN 1 DAY.
SO B CAN DO (1/4-1/12)= 1/6 IN 1 DAY. SO B ALONE CAN DO THE WORK IN 6 DAYS.

12*4/12-4=6days

A=1/12
1/12+B=1/4
