the average age of new player = 17 yrs 7 months.
If initial average age of 11 players was x and average age of 2 new players is y, then
11x-11*(x-2/12) = 17+20-2y
y = 17 7/12 yrs = 17 yrs 7 months

the average age of new player = 17 yrs 7 months.
If initial average age of 11 players was x and average age of 2 new players is y, then
11x-11*(x-2/12) = 17+20-2y
2y= 37-11/6= 211/6 yrs
y=211/12 yrs = 17 7/12 yrs = 17 yrs 7 months

{(17+20)-(11*(2/12))}/2
gives you= 17 years and 7 months..
first add replacing player age now in question he said that 11 player average decrease so we take minus first conver 2 months in year..which is going to be 2/12..

Let d averageg age be "x"
2 months ==> 2/12 => 1/6 yrs

Total age of 9 players excluding players aged 17 nd 20
total/9 = x
total = 9x
including players aged 17 nd 20
total = 9x+17+20
Avg => x = 9x+17+20/11
=> 11x = 9x+17+20
2x = 37 ==> x= 37/2
x = 18.5 => x = 18 1/2 years => x = 18 yrs 6 months

Let the total of 2 new players added be y
Total age of 11 players including 2 new players
total = 9x+y

Given : new average decreased by 1/6 years
9x+y/11 = x-1/6
9x+y/11 = 37/2-1/6 [Sub x=37/2]
9x+y = 407/2 - 11/6
6(9*37/2+y) = 1221 - 11 ==> 54*37/2 + y = 1210
999 + 6y = 1210
6y = 211 ==> y = 35
New Avg = 9*37/2+35/11 = 403/22 => 18 7/22 years => 18 yrs 3.8 months
New avg = 18yrs 4 months

Ans : 18 yrs 4 months
