There is difference of 31 days from 3rd Dec 1999 to 3rd Jan 2000..
31/7 left with 3 odd days..
that is wednesday

Sunday is the first day of the week.so after three days of the month the days remaining in the month of December is 31-3=28 days.And 28days is equal to four weeks.Among those rest four weeks 1 week is already started i.e 3rd December. so only 26 days remain. and that 26th day will be on Friday. so 3rd January 2000 will be Monday.

3rd Dec 1999 is Sunday .

Now , every 7th day after 3rd Dec , 1999 has to be a Sunday .

Thus 3+(7*4) = 28+3 = 31

Thus 31st December,1999 is a Sunday .

Therefore , 3rd January 2000 is a Wednesday .

(More Time Saving Process : Count the number of days . Here it is 31 days . Now divide it by 7 . The remainder (3) will give the day ( 3 days after Sunday which is Wednesday ).

december has 31 day but 3 december is sundsy so 1 week has 7 day,{(31-3)/7} there equ cover 4 week and we have only 3 day after sunday so we can say that day is wednesday

and time is 3rd dec to 3rd jan is 31 days=3 odd day

3rd december is sunday, so, after 3rd :- 10th, 17th, 24th, 31th are also sundays.
means, after 31th december of sunday, 1st jan 2000 = monday, so
3rd jan 2000= wednesday
as december is last month of 1999 and after that january 2000 will come so there is not so much to think about it.

on 3rd december it is sunday.
on 4th december it will be monday.
Counting from 4th december till 31st december the day count will be 28 days.
so on 31st december their will be sunday.
so on 3 jan 2000 it is wednesday.
