You cannot get even number by adding 5 odd numbers. I dont know whether i am right or wrong, check my solution:

15^1 + 5 + 5 + 5 = 30

where,
3! -> Factorial of 3 -> 1*2*3=6

Summing up, we get 30.

Please read the catch-phrase
"repetition is allowed" where the trick lies.
that means on the top of 5 digits, a no. can be repeated
11+9+5+3+1....+1

we can never arrive at 30 by adding 5 odd numbers becoz the sum of 5 odd numbers is always odd. But here 30 is even . SO IMPOSSIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We can either add 4 odd numbers or 6 odd numbers to arrive at 30.
Eg: 13+7+7+3=30 (adding 4 numbers)
or 7+3+3+3+5+9=30 (adding 6 numbers)
or 15+15=30 (adding 2 numbers)
Which means we can add only even number of odd numbers to get the sum even i.e 30.
