=1-( (6c1*5c1*4c1*3c1)/(6c1*6c1*6c1*6c1) )
=1- (5/18)
=13/18

probability of getting diff nos
6*5*4*2=360
tot probability=6^4=1296
probability of getting diff nos
360/1296=5/18
probability of getting same no
1-5/18=13/18

what is right answer can anyone explain?
following is possible or not?
(4c2*6 * 1/6^2 * 5/6 * 4/6) + (4c3*6 * 1/6^3 * 5/6) + (4c4*6 * 1/6^4)=47/72

because when two have same no. may be (A,B),(B,C)---4c2 possible
when three have same no. may be (A,B,C),(B,C,D)----4c3 possible
when three have same no. (A,B,C,D)----1 possible

and for all these dice value that is same may be 1 to 6

prob of getting same no=1/6
prob of getting diff=5/6
now,
2 get same,2 get diff=1/6*1/6*5/6*4/6
3 get same,3 get diff=1/6*1/6*1/6*5/6
4 get same=1/6*1/6*1/6*1/6
prob=(6*4!/2!*1/6*1/6*5/6*4/6)+(6*4!/3!*1/6*1/6*1/6*5/6)+(6*1/6*1/6*1/6*1/6)

The first person rolls a die, and gets a number.

The second person has a 5/6 chance of rolling a different number.

The third person has a 4/6 chance of rolling a number different from those two.

The fourth person has a 3/6 chance of rolling a number different from all three.

The odds that no two will roll the same number is 5/6*4/6*3/6 = 5/18 = .2777...

That's the odds that no two will roll the same number, so the odds that two (or more) of them will roll the same number is 1-5/18 = 13/18 = .7222..
