for 1st man 10/5+0.5=2.5
for 2nd man 10/3-0.5=2.83
So difference is 0.33

1man up strean = 10/5 - 1/2 = 1.5 (-1/2 becoz going upstream which slows him)

2nd man down stream = 10/3 + 1/2 = 3.83 (+1/2 bcoz down stream adds speed and so his time is also less acordng to question)

Diffrence in speed = 3.83 - 1.5 = 2.33km/hr :)

ans:1.33km/hr
given man1 travels 10km upstream in 5hrs
so upstream speed=10/5=2km/hr.
given man2 travels downstream 10km in 3hrs.
so downstream speed=10/3km/hr.
speed of stream=1/2km/hr.
speed of stream=1/2(downstream speed-upstream speed)
for man1,
1/2=1/2(x-2)(let man1 downstream speed=x)
x=2km/hr.(downstream speed man1)
so speed of man1 in water=1/2(downstream+upstream)
=1/2(2+2)
=2km/hr
for man2,
speed of stream=1/2(10/3-x)
1/2=1/2(10/3-x)
x=10/3(upstream speed)
speed of man2=1/2(10/3+10/3)
=1/2(20/3)
=10/3
diff in sped of men=10/3-2
=4/3
=1.33km/hr

xm2-y=10/3

from above two equations
xm2-xm1=3.33-2=1.33 km/hr is the difference
Ans 1.33

2-0.5=1.5 for 1st man
10/3+.5=17/6 for 2nd man
diff= 2.8-1.5

2nd man=10/3+1/2=23/6 km/hr
hence diff in speed=23/6-3/2=7/3=2.33km/hr

downstream=(x+y)=(10/3+1/2) =3.82
ans=2.32
