for better understanding , lets say the person take X of 50kg and Y of 60kg
thus his total CP is 50X+60Y
and SP is 70(X+Y)
gain = sp - cp
70(x+y)-(50x+60y)= (20/100)*(50x+60y)
thus solving the above equation we get, 50x=10y
hence the required answer is x:y = 1:5

Ans. will be 2:3
average price when mixed(with no profit)=
70-70*(20/100)=56
using Alligation equation
60-56/56-50=x:y i.e x:y=2:3
ratio 2:3

cost price of the mixture=70*(100/120)=58.33=58(1/3)
60-58(1/3)=1(2/3)
58(1/3)-50=8(1/3)
Thus the ratio is 1:5

ASSUME SP=70(X+Y)
GAIN=SP-CP
GAIN%=20%
20 *(50X+60Y)=70(X+Y)-50X+60Y
solving th equn we get 1:5ANS

(50x+60y)*120/100=70(x+y)
so x/y=1/5
hence x:y=1:5

The correct answer is 1:5

Those of you who are getting 2:3 by using alligation method, they are doing it wrong--
70 - 70 * (20 / 100)[profit is always calculated on CP] = 56 is WRONG
Because the profit is always calculated by multiplying the rate to cost price not to selling price
