300*25%=75
500*10%=50

total gain=(75-50)=25
25 gain for 800
hence,total gain is 3.125%

let the investment be x
then in first case:
investment=3x
s.p=3x *3x*25/100
=15x/4
in 2nd investment:
investment=5x
s.p=5x-10*5x/100
=9x/2
total s.p=15x/4+9x/2
=33x/4=8.25
profit%=8.25-8/8*100
profit%=3.125%

Let the investment be x.
One investment is = 3x, gain = 25%
Second investment = 5x, loss = 10%
Total investment = 8x
Now,
S.P of first investment = 3x + (3x*25%) = 15(x/4)
S.p of 2nd investment = 5x - (5x*10%) = 9(x/2)
Total S.P two investment together = 15(x/4) + 9(x/2) = 33(x/4)
Now , Total gain = 33(x/4) - 8x= 0.25 x
Gain % = (0.25x * 100)/8x = 3.125%

taking the 2 investments to be 3x and 5x
total income of raj = (3x)*1.25+(5x)*0.9 = 8.25
therefore gain%=0.25/8*100=3.125%
