3 digit repeat-9*10*10=900
none digit repeat-9*9*8=648
900-648=252(atleast 2 digit repeat)

No.of 3digits numbers with repetition = 9*10*10=900
No.of 3digits numbers without repetition = 9*9*8=648
So ans is 900-648=252

from 100-199 there r 28 number having atleast two digit same.
so; 28*9= 252

100,200,300,400,500,600,700,800,900 = total 9

for 1
101,110,111,112,113,114,115,116,117,118,119,121,131,141,151,161,171,181,191,211,311,411,511,611,711,811,911 = total 26

so we need 3 digit no. means we can take up to 9. for each no the possibilty is 26 like that upto 9
26*9=234
and add the possibility of 0 also that means 234+9=243.

Ans is 243

other 36(110,101,011,111 all has 9 combinations so 4*9=36)
216+36=252

Are you sure there is "atleast two digits"?? Because i attempted this question, and the question was "having two of three digits are same"....so in this case ans is 243

first we concider only 1-9
3 digit no where two digit same and one different =3c2*9*8=216 ;
where 3c2=number of arrangement where two digit same and one different

second 0 in the middle position =9
3rd 0 in the right most posi =9
total=234 ,this is total of two digit same

now all the three digit same
that will be 111,222,333,........=9

so at least two digit same =234+9=243 ans

question is saying at least 2 digit same not only 2 digit same ..:)

first calculate 2 digit same then calculate 3 digit same.
then add both of these.

count for 100 to 199
then multiply with 9;
here from 100 to 199 there will be :

101,111,112,113,114,115,116,117,118,119,
121,131,141,151,161,171,181,191,
110,
122,133,144,155,166,177,188,199
so total =27*9=243
and add number of number :

100,200,300,400,500,600,700,800,900

so the final answer will be: 243+9=252
