3*(A+B+C+D)=3957+4012+4370+4374
A+B+C+D=5571
5571-(Least sum of 3 numbers)=Largest number
5571-3957=1614
so Largest number is 1614 (option a)

the numbers are A B C and D
So, sum of three numbers from four numbers are : A+B+C, A+C+D, A+B+D and B+C+D
Now adding up all of them: (A+B+C)+(A+C+D)+(A+B+D)+(B+C+D)=3957+4012+4370+4374-----(i)
Which is subsequently equal to 3*(A+B+C+D)[since there are 3 A's 3B's and so on in eqn (i)]
equating we get (A+B+C+D)=5571

Now to find the greatest number, we just need to subtract the smallest sum of three numbers.
For example, if a+b+c+d=10 and a+b+c=7, then a+b+c+d-(a+b+c)=d=10-7=3.
Similarly, 5571-3957=1614(Ans)

unit digit of 3A+3B+3C+3D=3
means unit digit of a+b+c+d=1
then we need to subtract smallest no ie 3957(whose unit digit is 7)
mean highest number unit digit is 4
advantage is we need not calculate any thing .

3(A+B+C+D)=3957+4012+4470+4374
A+B+C+D=5571
Among the three sum , A+B+C is the lowest so D is the biggest number and its value is (5571-3957)=1614

Somebody please clarify the question what is this mean The sum of 3 from the 4 numbers. And from what numbers. Largest will be D in that case 4374. Pathetic

=5571-laregst number
=5571-3957
ans:1614
