Players were ranked according to their performance in last 1 year. Four players were selected from India to participate in the tournament. The aggregate rank of these players taken two at a time is 49, 36, 64, 57, 43 and 51. If by using one or more of these six mentioned ranks, the coach can uniquely determine the rank of each player, then what is the difference between the rank of the best and the worst player among them?

The right answer is 21
Explanation:
Let a, b, c, d be ranks of respective player such that a < b < c < d
Minimum rank will a + b and maximum c + d
or, a + b = 36
a + c = 43
a + d = 51 or 49
b + c = 51 or 49
b + d = 57
c + d = 64
Hence, d – a = (c + d) – (c + a) = 64 – 43 = 21
So, the correct answer is 21.
