let his salary be 100
dec by 50%-> 50(50%of 100=50,hence 100-50 for dec)
inc by 50%-> 75(50%of 50=25,hence 50 +25=75)
over all loss of 100-75=25%

first take salary is 100%
100-50/100*100 = 50%
50+50/100*50 = 75%
so 100-75=25%
so decrease is 25%

we can solve this question by formula A+B+(A*B)/100...NOTE:-When decreases take -ve .
so ,(-50)+50+((-50)*50)/100=-25(i.e loss of 25%)
so,25% (ANSWER)

ans: 25%
we hv the formula if m% and n% increased subsequently then the total increased percent is: m+n+(mn/100). the signs are given with respect to increament or decreament i.e, if m% of increament is there &n% of decreament is there then (m-n+(m*-n/100)
Here 50-50-(50*-50/100)=-25% so the loss is 25%

You can directly use the formula= x^2/100
if there is x% profit and x% loss

=50^2/100
=50*50/100
=2500/100
=25%
