24 is wrong.
24 tiles of 1" size are not sufficient even for a single wall of 6'.

no of tiles reqd will be 12*(6+8+6+8) = 12* 28 = 336

24 is the correct answer
first fix the tiles along 8 inches side
then it occupies some of the breadth also so 4+4 tiles cover the breadth area
so total tiles required =4+4+8+8=24

area of room=6*8
H.C.F of 6 and 8 is 2
so area o tile is 2*2
no of tiles=(6*8)/(2*2)=12

given that 1' is fixed along four side than ,,,so each side 2' is already coverd,we have to cover only (6-2)*(8-2)=24 ans

It is a 6'*8' room.
So if filled by titles of 1' then total 48 tiles are needed.
But they already said along the 4 walls of the room only the 1' tiles are fixed. So nly 24 tiles are left in the middle which are to be filled by 1" tiles..
So answer is 12*24=288 tiles of 1" are required to finish the work after it was already been laid with 1' tiles along the 4 walls in a row.

Please check that room dimensions are in ft. and tile dimensions are in inches.

yes answer 24.... because, we need 8 (1 inch titles) for a 8 feet side as well 4 for 4 feet side wall.. same as.. if 1 feet titles mean we need 8 titles for a 8 feet row.
Apply practical.... answer is (8+4+8+4=24)

Room Dimension is 6' x 8'.Therefore length is 8' and Breadth is 6'.Given that 1' tile is fixed along the 4 walls.1'=12".It is kept in one row.therefore length of four wall is 8' which implies 96" tiles are fixed along the four walls.For 4 walls= 96" tiles work is done
therefore For ,1" tile to be used to finish the work=96/4=24 tiles are required.

We need 8+8=16 tiles to cover the 8 inch walls

This also covers 2 inch breadth of each side. Hence we can use 4+4=8 tiles to conver this.

Total tiles required = 16+8=24
