Ans. 26.250 km.

As the two persons are moving in the opposite direction, so they will be separateed in 1 hour = 5 + 5.5 = 10.5 km.

They will be separated in 2.5 hours = 10.5 * 2.5 = 26.250 km

Let a walk at speed of 5 km/hr
and b walk at speed of 5.5 km/hr
In 2 1/2 hour,a-12.5km
b-13.75km
so, the distance is 12.5+13.75=26.25km

two person , suppose A and B
A will cover 12.5km distance ( 5km in one hour , 10 in 2 hour , nd 12.5 in 2.5 hour)
B will cover 13.75 km
add both distance we get
12.5+13.75=26.25
ans = 26.25

(5*2.5)=12.50 & 5.5*2.5=13.75 now12.50:13.75=10:11

26.25 km because one person travels a distance of 13.75 km and other 12.5 km. so totally it is 26.25 km

1st Case: 5km --> 1Hr (5km covered in 1hour i.e 5km/hr)
or 1hr --> 5Km (thats the same thing)
So in 2.5 hours person covers , (apply unitary method)
= 2.5 X 5 = 12.5 km
2nd Case : Similarly 1hr--> 5.5 km
So, in 2.5 hours ,person covers = 5.5 x 2.5 = 13.75 km
So, distance they are separated = 12.5 + 13.75 = 26.25 km

d1=5(5/2)
d2=5.5(5/2)
d=(25/2)+(27.5/2)
=26.25 km
