CP = Rs 60
profit = 37.5%
SP = 60*1.375 = Rs 82.5

Qnty sold @ Rs 75 per litre = 82.5/75 = 1.1 ltr.

so 10% water is to be added to make 1.1 ltr from 1 ltr of spirit.

let initially man has 100 lt of spirit.
cp of 100 lt spirit=60*100=6000
now let x lt of water is added then sp of (100+x)lt spirit=75*(100+x)
now from formula:sp=cp(100+profit)/100
75(1000+x)=6000(1375)/1000
=>x=10
hence amount of mixed water =10 lt,and amount of spirit =100lt.

9:1 is the answer it's the problem of alligation mixture.
Cp of mixture=(100/137.5)*75=54.54Rs
ratio= 56:6= 9:1

SP = 75
P% = 37.5%
CP per litre = 60

therefore, CP as per profit ratio = 75 - [ 75*37.5/137.5 ]
= 54.54

Quantity of spirit to be bought from Rs 54.54 = 54.54/60 litre
= 0.909 litre

Quantity of water to be mixed with spirit (to get One litre Mixture) = 1 - 0.909 = 0.0909 litre

therefore, Ratio of SPIRIT TO WATER = 0.909 : 0.0909
= 10 : 1 (Ans.)

24 times because 6561/3=2187&there r three 2187 parts he has to weigh each one once then only he knows which is larger weight so 6561=3^8 ,so 8*3=24times he has to weigh the balls

Let the man takes the initial quantity of spirit is = X liters
Then the cost price will be= 60*X rs.
suppose he mixes Y liters of water in the Initial Quantity of the spirit.
Then the quantity of mixture will become= (X+Y) liters
Total money after selling the mixture at the rate of 75 will be= 75*(X+Y) rs.
According to the question
Toatal money after selling the mixture=1.375 *60X
so,
1.375*60X=75*(X+Y)

After solving the above equation we will get-------> (X/Y)=(10/1).

So option (b)is correct.
