Speed of the train = 60km/hr.


Speed of Cyclist travel = 10km/hr.

It means, Cyclist travels 5km in 30minutes.

If Cyclist comes late by 25 min and meets the train 5km before the crossing means, it shows

Train can travel 5Kms in 5minutes.

So, speed of train is (5 km/5min) = 1 km/1min = 60km per hour.

Here is a simpler explanation.
Assume that the man and the train normally meet at the crossing at 8 a.m. He is 5 km behind at 7.30.

But when the cyclist is late, he arrives at the crossing at 8.25 and therefore 5 km behind at 7.55 am.

Since the train takes 5 min to travel 5 km, the speed of the train = 60 kmph

The cyclist didnot come late. He/She came 25 mins earlier and met the train 5km before the crossing. But the solution is correct.

Let me make it more simple.
With the speed of 10km/hr the Cyclist would have travel
10 km/h * 25/60 hr = 25/6 km
But the Cyclist and Train meet at 5 km point.
Therefore, 5 – 25/6 = 5/6
=> The cyclist is 5/6 km apart from the cross road, when the train is at 5 km point.
Time taken by the cyclist to travel this 5/6 km = Distance / Speed
(5/6) / 10 = 1 / 12 hours
=> The train will also travels 5 km in 1/12 hr.
Again,
Speed = distance / time
Speed=5 / (1/12) = 5 * 12 = 60 km / h

train can reach crossing in 5mins, also given it is 5kms away from crossing.
so, t=5mins, d=5kms
s= 5kms/5mins = 1km per minute = 60kmph

When the cyclist is 25 mins late, he met the train 5 km ahead of crossing. He can cover these 5km in 5/10 = آ½ hour = 30 mins. To travel these 5 km, cyclist takes 30 mins. But he is already late by 25 mins, so in the next 5 mins, the train will cover 5km. Therefor, the train â€کs speed = 60 km/h
