50% of 87 machines is 50*87/100=43.5 and
28% of 13 machines is 13*28/100=3.64,
so
43.5+3.64 =47.14

Let there are 100 machines.
So 87 machines are in 1st building. And remaining 13 are in 2nd building.
Now we know that
50 percent of machines in 1st building got repair so 50 percent of 87 is(50×87)/100 =43.5
And 28 percent of 2nd building ie (28×13)/100 = 3.64
So adding machines of both buildings that are repaired we get (43.5+3.64)=47.14

let building 1 have 87 machine and building 2 have 13 machine..

so28% of 2nd building got maintenance..

so, 28% of 13= 13* 28/100 = 3.64 ans...

if we are assuming total 100%.. then
first building has 87% copying machines..so
second building has 13% copying machines..then
50% of copying machines preventive in first building so 50% of 87%
87*50/100 = 43.5.
28% of copying machines preventive in second building so 28% of 13%
28*13/100 =3.6
so total copying machines received preventive maintance last month is 43.5+3.6 =47.1.
