12 is expressed in 15 ways as in 12*1*1 only 3 ways are obtained: 12*1*1,1*12*1,1*1*12=3 ways,
3*4*1 for 3! ways and 6*2*1 for 3! ways. total=3!+3!+3=15 ways
not 18 ways. is repetitionis allowed are not.

see we can have three cases as 12 have factors 3x4,2x6,12x1...
so case 1 - (3,4,1) Six ways as repetition can be there..
eg - (3,4,1),(3,1,4),(1,3,4),(1,4,3),(4,1,3),(4,3,1) so total Six ways..
case 2 (2,6,1) Again 6 ways
case 3 (12,1,,) again 6 ways
finally = 6+6+6 = 18

so let, for three ordered numbers abc
a * b * c = 2^4 × 3^2 × 5^2
OR
b * c * a = 2^4 × 3^2 × 5^2
OR
c * a * b = 2^4 × 3^2 × 5^2
OR .............

so we can see that we 3 options, i.e. a,b,c , for each numbers 2^4 , 3^2 , 5^2

now according to permutation and combination formula , to distribute n things among r the formula is
n + r - 1Cr - 1

to distribute 2^4 => Four 2s among 3 places => (4+3−1)C(3−1)=6C2 = 15 ways
to distribute 3^2 => two 3s among 3 places => (2+3−1)C(3−1)=4C2 = 6 ways
to distribute 5^2 => two 5s among 3 places => (2+3−1)C(3−1)=4C2 = 6 ways

Total ways = 15 × 6 × 6 = 540

Solution:

Lets assume the capacity of the tank is x lit.
The filling rate of pipe A = x/37.5 lit/min
The filling rate of pipe B = x/45 lit/min

The tap is opened for the full time of half an hour i.e = 30 mins.
Lets assume tap B is opened for y mins.

Therefore tap A fills (x/37.5)*30 lits
tap B fills (x/45) *y lits
The total would be equal to the tank capacity.
Therefore (30x/37.5) + xy/45 =x -----> y/45 = 1-30/37.5 ---> y = 0.2 * 45 mins = 9 mins.

An easy way to do these types of questions is considering the question into glasses means consider here that B fills 45 glasses in 45 minutes so A has to feel the same in 37.5 minutes that is it feels 45/37.5 glasses per minute which is equal to 1.2 glasses per minute in 30 minutes tab A will feel 30×1.2 glasses, that is 36 glasses now tap B has to feel only 9 glasses which would take 9 minutes and it's the answer
