Change to base 6
3*6^2+0*6^1+0*6^0= 3*36=108

=> total number of 3's in unit's place is 6*6 = 36
in 10's place (that's 8 in decimal), the 3's are:
30, 31, 32... 35
130, 131, ... 135
...
730, 731, .... 735
=> total number of 3's in 10's place is 6*6 = 36
in 100's place (that's 64 in decimal), the 3's are:
300, 301, ... 305
310, 311 ... 315
...
370, 371 .... 375
=> total number of 3's in 100's place is 6*6 = 36
thus, the total number of 3's in total is 36 + 36 + 36 = 108

express 300 in base 6 i.e 3*6^2=108. answer is C.
