ans is option a
just take investments as multiples of 3 and 5 like 3000 and 5000

gain is 25% so 125% of 3000 is 3750 and loss in another investment is 10% so 90% of 5000 is 4500
so, the amount after investment is 3750+4500=8250 and before investment was 3000+5000=8000.
difference = +250
%gain= change/investment * 100 %
= (250/8000) *100 = 3.125%

1.25*300+.9*500=>825
that means profit is 3.125%

ratio of two investment is 3:5
so first investment = 3 x
so second investment = 5 x
after applying 25 % gain and 10% loss on both investments respectively
= (3 x * 125)/100 +(5 x * 90)/100 = 15 x/4 + 9 x/2

so gain or loss %=( ((3 x + 5 x) - (15 x/4 + 9 x/2))/8 x) *100
= - 3.125
so 3.125 % loss Answer

.1*5/8=.06250

given ratio 3:5 then let the ration be 300:500
total 800
25% of 300 is 75 and 10% of 500 is 50
(300+75)+(500-50)=825
(825-800)/800*100=3.125%

let investments be 3000 & 5000 ,gain is 25% i.e . 125% of 3000 is 3750 and loss in another investment is 10% i.e. 90% of 5000 is 4500
