Efficiency of Work ratio of father to son =5:1
Hence ratio of time taken = 1:5
Let f takes x days and son takes 5x days.
Given 5x-x=40
=>x=10 days.
Togeter they would do part of the work in 1 day=1/10+1/50=6/50=3/25
So tatal days eq= 25/3 days to finish the work

Given: father is 5 times faster
so,son will take 5 times the time taken by father.
Suppose father takes 'x' units of time
so son will take '5x' unit.

Now,According to question

5x-x=40
4x=40
so,x=10

hence father takes 10 days and son take 5*10=50 days.

so the work done in one day by both combinely = 1/10+1/50 = 6/50
so time taken to complete the task = 50/6 =8.33

=8 days 8 hours

let son takes x days to complete the work
father takes x/5 days and complete 40 days early so
x-x/5=40
x=50
so son takes 50 days and father takes 10 days
and simply by knowin abouve details answer is 25/3 days

let son work is x. therefore fathers work is 5x. then fathers work (f=x-40)
5x=x-40;x=10;f(5x)=50. 1/10+1/50=3/25. time=8.333
