in the given 1 tringle is already formed u dont mention it then after making a tringle with 3 stick then in continous it needs only 2 stick to formed the tringle then 87-3=84 tringle is there so 842=42 stick are used but 1 is already formed by 3 stick so it is 42+1=43

simply use this formula:-
2n+1=87
2n=87-1
2n=86
n=43.
Hence 43 no of triangle can be made by the 87 sticks.

43 as 2n+1= no of sicks, where n= no of triangle

To solve questions like these, use formula, 2n + 1 = k. Here n = triangles, k = sticks
2n+1 = 87 ⇒⇒ n = 43.

Ans=43 triangles
total 87 sticks
one(1) triangle is formed by 3sticks.----(1)
87-3=84sticks
so remaining 2 sticks are formed 1 triangle=84/2=42 triangles /_
so total /_ are formed 42+1=43 /_

29 triangles can be formed with 87 sticks....bcuz we need 3 sticks for making 1 triangle...
