let earlier work would be completed in x days
so now it would take (x+8) days to complete the work
so 150x=150+142+.........(x+8) terms
150x=(x+8)(300-(x+7)4)/2 -------using sum of A.P
solving for value of x we get x=17
so the work now would be completed in 17+8=25 days
