no. of students of age greater than 6 = .16x
no. of students of age less than 6 = .84x

let avg marks scored by students of age greater than 6 yr is = y then

.84x * 88 + .16x * y = 80*x
=> 73.92 + .16y = 80
=> y = 38

16% student of total student =16/100*100=16
so remaining students=100-16=84
avg marks scored by all students= 100*80=8000
avg marks scored by less than 6 yrs student=84*88=7392
so avg marks scored by students of age greater than 6 yrs=(8000-7392)/16=608/16= 38
So The ans is 38

((88*88)+(X*16))/100 = 80
so, X = 38

let's take x as 100 16%= 16 student age is greater than 6 years
remaining student are 84 who's age is less than 6 years
avg marks of all all student is 80 (80*100)=8000
avg marks scored by less than 6 years student is (84*88)=7392 than 8000-7392=608
608/16=38 so 38 is the answer
